• Co-developed and managed the west coast Transaction Advisory Services practice at Andersen. This group provided comprehensive Merger & Acquisition services to both financial and strategic buyers and sellers, involving domestic and cross border matters including:
• pre-transaction diligence including synergies and integration analysis
• subsequent merger integration planning and management
• involvement with negotiation strategies and detail documentation matters.
• One of three partners with global service line responsibility.
• In addition to decades of providing direct client services, served as Deputy Worldwide Director of the Andersen international real estate practice. Established a dedicated transactional consulting practice serving the needs of primarily real estate related industry clients, including operations with substantial real estate elements such as hospitality and long-term healthcare. Clients included real estate investors such as “Wall Street” firms and other financial institutions as well as operators.
• Established a distressed and performing loan portfolio transactions practice with private sector clients providing sell side services related to pre sale diligence and preparation, sale management and, for the buy side, loan and collateral diligence, asset management and securitization.
• Served as the external auditor for public and private entities in the real estate, high tech, manufacturing and services sectors.
• Performed investigations of financial institutions at the direction of regulators and/or the institution’s Board. These investigations focused on process and policy compliance, possible inappropriate behaviors of customers and/or bank officers and staff, underwriting and asset quality and management.
• Served as an expert in connection with the defense of directors and officers of financial institutions in connection with claims of regulators.
• Served as an expert for counsel on numerous other engagements involving actual or threatened litigation or disputes, providing such services as:
• forensic investigations
• evaluation of complex documents, financial reporting and multi-entity structures
• preparation of analyses, interrogatories, deposition and trial support
• mediation/negotiating session presentations
• These engagements covered a variety of industries and financial   structures with a focus on investment vehicles, fraud investigations and auditors’ responsibilities.
• Developed expertise in securitization, syndication, partnership, joint venture, leasing and other forms of financial transactions; lead internal training sessions and development of technical accounting guidance.
• Has been a frequent speaker on the interrelationship of acquisition, diligence and integration planning, execution and management and distressed loan and real property acquisition and management.
• Squire has served as a Board or Strategic Advisory Board member of several entities.

Squire started his professional career in 1972 in the Boston office of Andersen, became a partner in 1982 and relocated to their Los Angeles office in 1989.

He is currently licensed as a CPA in California (previously also in Massachusetts).

He earned BS and MBA degrees, each with honors, from Cornell University.
